It’s amazing when you start unpacking a storage box that was packed four years ago and find things you forgot you had! I moved 4 years ago and this was in one of those boxes. Along with other amazing items! Rare to find circular box with miniature portrait. I believe it may have been a powder box or may be a trinket box. Made of wood, I am not sure what portrait was painted on. One side crack on portrait where it is a little upraised. Early 1800s.
