A gorgeous Late Roman bronze buckle dating from the circa 4th-6th century AD, the center depicting a well-defined cross. Four concentric-ring motifs at the corners. Gorgeous deep green patina, with the original pin still intact! Measures 2.25”. Mounted in an archival frame (frame measures 4”). Ex Collection of David Van Vleck Jr, Brooklyn NY, acquired in the 1990s.
