Henry Limpet is a mild-mannered, fish-loving bookkeeper who desperately wants to contribute to the war effort during World War II but is rejected by the U.S. Navy for poor eyesight. After accidentally falling off a pier, his deepest wish comes true when he transforms into a talking, bespectacled fish. Using his new aquatic form and a powerful vocal roar ("thrumming"), he teams up with the U.S. Navy to track down and destroy enemy German U-boat submarines
