Vintage August 1970 13th printing of the Scholastic softcover edition of Adventure at Black Rock Cave eBay. Written by prolific children's and science author Patricia Lauber and originally copyrighted in 1959 by arrangement with Random House, Inc. Released under Scholastic catalog number TW 286 with a retro 45¢ original cover price. The bright blue front cover features an eye-catching mid-century illustration of two siblings, Chris and Addie, rowing an orange rowboat named "DOUGHNUT" into a mysterious cave. The back cover sets up the classic childhood mystery: "Don't go there again!... There's something very strange going on at Black Rock Island." featuring a giant red lobster graphic. The cover looks extremely clean, the binding is solid and uncreased, and the pages show normal light vintage tanning. An excellent piece of nostalgic school-market mystery fiction for retro paperback collectors!
