Hardcover ©2001 - Genre: Contemporary romance / women's fiction (general fiction), with themes of family life and a love triangle. Plot: The novel, set in Longwood Falls, New York, follows Casey Becket, a teacher and mother of three, who is about to celebrate her 20th wedding anniversary with her steady, devoted husband Michael — the boy next door who took care of her after her first love, Will Combray, jilted her at the altar two decades earlier. When Will suddenly reappears in her backyard by the family fountain, Casey is forced to confront the question of what might have been: the calm, secure life she has with Michael, or the wild, passionate romance she always wondered about with Will. Torn between faithfulness/honor and desire, she must relive her past to decide which path will truly satisfy her heart.
