used The Ungodly (also known as The Perfect Witness) is a 2007 psychological thriller film directed by Thomas Dunn about an aspiring filmmaker who blackmails a serial killer into letting him make a documentary. Mickey Gravatski (Wes Bentley) is a struggling, small-time filmmaker looking for inspiration. By chance, he records a notorious serial killer named James Lemac (Mark Borkowski) committing a murder. Instead of going to the police, Mickey approaches Lemac with a dangerous proposition. He uses the incriminating video to blackmail Lemac, demanding full access to his life for a new documentary. An intense game of cat-and-mouse follows as the two men try to gain control, forcing Mickey to face the darkness in both the killer and himself.
