Vol. 4 (of 8) of the "New American Pulp." WEIRD HEROES was a series of novels and anthologies that dealt with new heroic characters inspired by the classic pulp magazines. And like the pulps, the series was also heavy on art, having many well-known artists illustrate the stories. This is one of the four novels in the series. Readers and pulp historians praise this volume for trying something fresh by putting a female protagonist at the center of a gritty, magic-infused urban pulp landscape. The atmosphere captures mid-70s weirdness and occult detective vibes well.
