Productdetails

This exceptional turn-of-the-century antique art piece features an original, signed Impressionistic watercolor landscape depicting a peaceful countryside cottage nestled behind a sprawling grove of trees. The artwork is executed with atmospheric washes of sage, slate blue, and charcoal gray on paper that bears a gorgeous, natural age patina. The painting is housed in its original, beautifully detailed dark wood frame featuring fine embossed texturing. Most notably, the reverse side retains its incredibly rare, original teal merchant label from "J.H. Roll Pictures & Frames" located at 418 N. 19th Street in Birmingham, Alabama, establishing a rock-solid regional history from a prominent late-19th/early-20th-century southern art dealer. Complete with its original vintage wire hanger, this is a phenomenal, investment-grade estate find.
