Discontinued Jonathan Adler figural brass magnifying glass featuring an elephant with its raised trunk supporting the circular glass lens. The sculptural elephant is modeled with oversized ears, tusks and an upturned tail, making this as much a decorative desk sculpture as a functional magnifying glass. The underside retains the original JONATHAN ADLER – HANDMADE IN INDIA label as well as the impressed circular JA maker's mark. The brass has been left with its naturally developed patina rather than polished, giving the piece a warm, richly mottled surface. The magnifying lens is thick glass and remains intact.
