I tuned in planning to casually browse... and impulse-bought Double Dragon for NES (still in that glorious gray cartridge glory) plus Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn. My brain’s logic: “One’s a 30-minute couch brawler, the other’s just a chill story MMO.”
Fast-forward: I’m now 47 hours deep in Eorzea, ignoring my adult responsibilities, while the Double Dragon cart sits proudly on my shelf judging me. I tried replaying it and immediately got bodied by the first level. Meanwhile my FF14 character is level 60 and has better drip than I do.
My girlfriend asked why our living room now smells like 1987 and broken dreams. My dog just sighs every time I yell “MAXIMUM EFFORT” at the TV.
