You should never put a sticker directly on any fiber yarn because the act of removing the sticker also removes fibers from the yarn or leaves sticky residue. In this case it pulled off a good amount of fibers from each cone. In future place your stickers inside the end of a cone or put it in a plastic bag with the sticker on the bag or label.
