Absolutely stunning vintage blue blown art glass covered compote with an exceptionally delicate, thin-walled construction. The rounded pedestal bowl is topped by a dramatic elongated conical lid finished with a clear applied glass finial, while a clear foot provides a beautiful contrast to the rich blue glass. This is a remarkably lightweight and delicate piece of glasswork—the thin glass gives it an almost ethereal quality when illuminated and makes the blue appear to shift from smoky aqua to deep teal depending on the light. Excellent vintage display condition. As expected with individually made art glass, minor bubbles, variations and subtle irregularities may be present from production. Some roughness on the rim of the lid, but no chips or cracks were found. A truly striking piece for a vintage art glass collection, colorful glass display, barware cabinet or Mid-Century interior.
