Vintage Japanese Kyo-Yaki Kyoto Ware Crane Stoneware Bowls – Set of 4 Matched set of four vintage Japanese Kyo-yaki (Kyoto ware) stoneware bowls featuring a white crane motif. Each small bowl has a softly squared form with rounded corners, a muted gray to gray-green glaze and exposed reddish-brown stoneware at the foot. A delicate white crane stands against sparse black linear brushwork. The four bowls are clearly related yet show subtle differences in glaze and decoration, adding to their handcrafted character. Each is impressed on the underside with a Japanese potter or kiln mark.
