Product Details

Midnight in bloom. A ring of ivory lilies and hellebores with blush-pink buds, scattered across a dramatic black ground and finished with a softly scalloped gold rim. Pure 1930s-50s English glamour, and a flawless fit for a moonlit table. SPECS - Maker: Rosina China Co., England - Type: Bone china saucer (orphan - no cup) - Pattern: Black-ground lily chintz, pattern no. 4860 - Diameter: ~5.5 in - Trim: Gold scalloped rim - Marks: Rosina crown mark, "Bone China / Made in England / 4860" HISTORY Rosina (later Queen's) became famous for its bold all-over "chintz" patterns, and the black-ground florals are the most striking of all. Pattern numbers in the 4800s place this in the 1930s-40s range. A saucer like this makes a perfect ring/jewellery dish or display piece. CONDITION Pre-owned, excellent. No chips or cracks; bright gold (confirm). Note: saucer only, no teacup.
