Product Details

This is a very good 1968 copy of The Arms of Krupp 1587–1968 by William Manchester. Published by Little, Brown and Company, this 943-page non-fiction work is a comprehensive history of the influential German industrial dynasty that powered Germany's military through several centuries and wars. The book details the 400-year history of the Krupp family, from their origins in the 16th century to their role as "Essen's uncrowned kings" and primary armaments manufacturers for the Third Reich. Manchester's narrative highlights the family's immense power, their development of advanced weaponry (cannons, submarines, etc.), and their controversial use of slave labor during the Nazi era. Black hardcover with gold spine lettering and the signature-stamped front board. It’s in really good condition. Pages are free of rips, tears, and stains. There is no writing in the book that I’m aware of. No dust jacket. There is minor shelf wear and "edgewear" visible along the corners and the top and bottom
