Product Details

Some interesting information regarding this vase… This vase shape is an exact duplicate of Fenton's "Empress" pattern design, this specific ceramic version is likely a vintage hobbyist ceramic reproduction or a regional pottery duplicate from the 1970s or 1980s. During the mid-to-late 20th century, it was highly popular for independent ceramic supply companies to create plaster casting molds by taking direct impressions of popular glassware patterns (like Fenton, Hull, or McCoy). Local ceramic art studios purchased these plaster molds. Hobbyists or local artisans would then cast them using liquid white slip clay, fire them in a kiln, apply a high-gloss white glaze over the exterior, and leave the very bottom rim unglazed so it wouldn't stick to the kiln shelf during firing.

About the Seller
I am an early childhood special education teacher that started thrifting after watching videos on Facebook of people going to Goodwill. That was all it took. I LOVE hunting treasures and figure I probably should sell some to make room for my next find!
