This item is a vintage ceramic vase featuring a distinctive "fat lava" or drip glaze finish. This style was highly popular in Mid-Century Modern pottery, made by senior citizens at the Acadia Senior Living. It has a thick, textured drip glaze mimicking volcanic flow. Primarily high-gloss black with vibrant, "lava" red or orange streaks. Tapered body with a flared, pedestal-style base. There are no cracks, missing paint or scratches and no structural damage. There is a small chips around on the bottom of the piece. It is 6 1/2 inches tall.
