The book follows three anthropomorphic pig brothers—Fifer Pig, Fiddler Pig, and Practical Pig. While Fifer and Fiddler rush through building flimsy homes out of straw and sticks to spend their time lazily playing music, Practical Pig spends hard hours constructing a sturdy home out of bricks.
