Up for sale is a collection of 23 historic United States Jefferson "War Nickels" minted between 1942 and 1945. Because of wartime shortages, these emergency issues were struck in a 35% silver alloy, easily identifiable by the oversized mint marks placed above the dome of Monticello on the reverse.This lot is excellent for silver stackers, junk silver collectors, or anyone building a Jefferson nickel set.
