Charming mid-century Japanese sewing basket featuring woven raffia-style construction with metallic pink accents, red ball feet, and a satin-lined interior. The underside retains its original label marked “Music River of Kwai Japan,” indicating a built-in music box that plays the famous theme from The Bridge on the River Kwai. Interior includes the original pincushion-style lid lining and a small compartment box. A wonderful example of 1950s–1960s Japanese sewing and vanity accessories with great cottage, kitschy, and nostalgic appeal.
