This vintage cobalt blue glass child's alphabet plate was manufactured by the Westmoreland Glass Company. It features a beautifully detailed, hand-painted Mary Gregory style scene in white enamel, depicting a charming young boy gifting a bouquet of flowers to a young girl beneath a tree. The artwork is hand-signed by acclaimed Westmoreland decorator L. Plues in elegant white script near the bottom right of the central image. The wide outer rim showcases a classic molded beaded edge framing raised uppercase letters from A to Z, separated by an ampersand and a dash. Crafted in a rich, vibrant, and highly translucent cobalt blue, this exceptional piece is in excellent vintage condition with a polished reverse, making it a prime addition to any antique glass collection. Plate measures just over 7 inches wide. Excellent condition with no chips or damage and no mentionable surface wear.
