Pair of vintage Japanese porcelain lusterware plates featuring hand-painted windmill landscape scenes. Each approximately 5-inch plate has a warm orange, peach and amber iridescent glaze accented by water, trees, shoreline scenery and a thin gold rim. The paintings vary slightly, giving each plate an individual appearance. Both are stamped Made in Japan on the reverse. Likely produced during the early to mid-20th century for the export market. Attractive as small dessert plates, saucers, cabinet collectibles or decorative wall display pieces. Maker is unknown. Some wear to design and back stamps. No chips or cracks noted.
