The photo case features an embossed black leather on both sides and measures 3.25" x 3.5". This antique ambrotype portrait of a woman is behind glass. The black and white image (6th plate)  inside is framed in a beautiful gold embossed border / oval frame. This unique and visually striking photo captures the essence of a woman from the 1850's-1870's time period. The interior lining to the left of the photo features a distinct diamond lattice pattern velvet which appears to be red in color.  Although a little faded from being over 100 years old, it is intact. The hook and clasps on the side is complete and locks the portrait shut.
