This miniature "Gem" Tintype photo album is absolutely stunning and amazing. Such a rare find. Measurements are 3.25" x 3.5". This beautiful album features a black leather embossed case with in embossed ornate design accented in gold-gilt. Metal/brass clasp with latch to close your photo case. On the outside binder of the photo case, reads, "ALBUM." Inside contains 12 front and back thick pages with oval photo areas to insert your precious family photos. Some areas are filled with tintype photos, and some are empty. The binder and spine are intact. Currently, the photo album contains pictures of men and women of the time period approximately 1850's-1870's. **Early photographic process where the image is developed directly onto a thin sheet of iron coated with a dark enamel.
