From the front this brooch looks like a lot of others, however from the side you can see the deep basket-like construction, which makes this one a bit special. Each of the clear rhinestones on the outer rings has been claw set into its own curved stem. The central rhinestone is set at a lower level. Although my research calls this brooch “atomic” in style, I think it’s more of a flower head design, chrysanthemum being my best guess. The rhodium plating is all in good order and all rhinestones are present and retain their clarity and sparkle.The rollover clasp is working and secure. It’s in great condition. This really is a lovely quality piece of vintage costume jewellery. Definitely a more unusual addition to your collection!
