Product Details

Antiochos III (223–187 BC) restored Seleucid power by crushing revolts across Iran & Central Asia during his eastern campaigns of 212–205 BC, earning the title "the Great." Later expansion into Asia Minor & Greece (197–192 BC) led to war with Rome, whose victory at Magnesia in 190 BC marked the start of Seleucid decline. This tetradrachm features a diademed head of Antiochos III on the obverse & Apollo seated on the omphalos on the reverse, with an HYP monogram sideways to the left.
