Includes two Tennessee Coal, Iron & Railroad Co. letters, one with ornate Nashville letterhead listing collieries, coke ovens, blast furnaces, and ore mines, and one South Pittsburg, Tennessee letter referencing analysis of J. Craig McLanahan’s ore. Also includes Jovite Manufacturing Company of Washington, D.C. letter to Prof. Chas. E. Munroe discussing returned Jovite explosive powder, shells, dangerous marking, and water-soaked powder. Great Tennessee, mining, railroad, iron industry, ore analysis, explosives, quarry, and McLanahan archive ephemera lot. Good antique condition overall with fold lines, age toning, light soiling, handling wear, small edge/corner wear, file punch holes, and minor tears/chips.
