Every estate has one of these, and every time I pick one up I convince myself I'm finally going to become the sort of person who has a sophisticated little brass bowl sitting on the entry table. You know... where the keys actually go instead of disappearing into another dimension. This vintage brass basket has a wonderful twisted swing handle, honest age, and enough patina to prove it has lived an interesting life. Fill it with wrapped candies, air plants, sewing clips, jewelry, matchbooks, tiny pinecones you absolutely didn't need to collect, or absolutely nothing at all because it looks pretty just being itself. It's about 3½ inches across and 3 inches tall, has that warm old-brass glow everyone tries to fake, and would be perfectly at home in an English cottage, a cozy farmhouse, or on the shelf of someone who insists they aren't collecting brass... they're just "accidentally rescuing it."
