Beautiful vintage amber and mother-of-pearl inlay collectible thimble, likely originating from the Baltic region. The body features alternating panels of translucent cognac/honey-colored amber and luminous white mother-of-pearl set into a gold-tone metal framework. The amber displays wonderful internal texture and variation when illuminated and fluoresces green under UV light, consistent with genuine amber. The metal appears to be a brass or copper-rich brass alloy with an aged gold-tone surface. The traditional dimpled top shows substantial authentic-looking wear and oxidation, while the raised areas reveal warmer metal beneath.
