A wonderful antique E.R. Durkee & Co. New York glass condiment bottle, dating from the late 19th to early 20th century. This clear glass bottle features bold embossed lettering reading “E.R. DURKEE & CO.” and “NEW YORK” across the body. The bottle has a distinctive stepped neck with screw threads, originally designed to accommodate a metal cap. Originally used for E.R. Durkee’s Gauntlet brand salad dressing and condiment sauces, this is a fantastic piece of advertising and kitchen history. This bottle has been unearthed and cleaned, giving it that wonderful authentic character of a dug bottle while allowing the embossed details to really stand out. Expect signs of age and wear consistent with its history. A great addition to an antique bottle collection, vintage kitchen display, primitive decor, or repurposing project.
