Original circa 1930s Dill's Best Smoking Tobacco vertical pocket tin by J.G. Dill Company of Richmond, Virginia, successor United States Tobacco Co. Bright yellow lithographed tin features the classic Dill's Best woman trademark, red lettering, “Since 1848,” and advertising for fragrant, smooth, natural-tasting smoking tobacco for pipe or cigarette. Hinged lid reads “For Nearly a Century Dill's Best A Comfortable Smoke.” Measures approximately 4.5 x 3 inches. Excellent display appeal for tobacciana and Virginia history collectors. Yellow lithographed graphics remain strong and readable, with scattered scratches, scuffs, small paint losses, discoloration and surface spotting. There is heavier oxidation and paint loss around the lower edges and bottom, with additional darkening and oxidation inside the tin and lid. See pictures for further details on condition.
