Charming vintage ceramic duck pie bird / pie vent with a warm brown body, black head, bright yellow bill, and wonderfully kitschy character. Designed to sit in the center of a pie and vent steam through the open beak while baking. The glaze shows nice age and crazing, and the unusual duck form makes this much more collectible than the common plain blackbird-style vents. A great piece for a vintage kitchen, baking collection, farmhouse display, or dedicated pie bird collector. Maker is currently unidentified. Please see photos for condition and age-related wear.
