Large commemorative medal reproducing the famous Anthony Wayne / Battle of Stony Point Comitia Americana medal. Obverse depicts General Anthony Wayne receiving a wreath from a Native American figure with Latin legend “ANTONIO WAYNE DUCI EXERCITUS” and COMITIA AMERICANA below. Reverse features the dramatic Stoney-Point Expugnatum battle scene and Roman-numeral date XV JUL. MDCCLXXIX (July 15, 1779). This is a later reproduction, not an original 18th-century medal. Attractive silver-colored finish with strong relief and excellent Revolutionary War imagery. Comes in protective capsule. See photos for exact condition.
