Product Details

Beautiful Post-WWII Japanese import necklace, circa late 1940s-1950s, constructed entirely with glass beads in a delicate linked station design. The necklace combines elongated ivory-white milk glass tube beads, coordinating round glass spacers, and larger floral-decorated milk glass focal beads featuring colorful pink, blue, yellow and green blossoms. Even the components that initially resemble porcelain or early plastic are glass, giving the necklace wonderful weight and quality. The individually linked construction and combination of unusual glass shapes are characteristic of the decorative jewelry exported from Japan during the post-WWII era. Its style is compatible with the Occupation-era period of 1945–1952
