Extraordinary interwar necklace marked CZECHO SLOVAKIA. Its extravagant construction and exotic figural vocabulary strongly evoke Neiger Brothers, making Neiger a compelling possible attribution, though unconfirmed. An orchestra of Czech glass techniques includes enormousu faceted lavender crystals, prong-set stones, plum teardrops, tiny contrasting beads, rhinestones and remarkable multicolored molded art glass incorporated into the cicada, producing an enamel-like effect. Most fascinating is the unusual surviving metal armature visible on the reverse, engineered to mechanically secure and support the large glass insect component—a remarkable piece of period construction rarely encountered intact.
