For sale is an exceptional, matching multi-piece wood art set hand-turned by the late master woodturner Maurice "Moe" Gamblin (1946–2025) of Bairdsville, New Brunswick. Both pieces are signed by the artist on the bottom and explicitly noted as "Box Elder Burl". This matching, nested set includes:A hollow-form burl vase with a dramatic live edge.A wide, shallow nesting platter/bowl designed to hold the vase.The underside of the platter showcases the incredibly dense, raw, unturned natural bark texture and tight eye clusters of the original burl cap, contrasting beautifully with the smooth, polished interior. Box Elder Burl is highly prized by collectors for its chaotic, shimmering golden grain patterns and incredible character. Condition: Excellent vintage condition.
