Striking vintage circa 1950s–1960s double brooch / sweater guard set featuring two ornate antiqued gold-tone medallion brooches connected by multiple strands of draped bead chain. Each brooch is centered with a large faceted sapphire-blue glass cabochon, surrounded by dimensional radiating feather or leaf motifs and textured openwork detailing. Both medallions have their own pin-back closure, allowing them to be positioned separately on a cardigan, sweater, jacket, cape, dress, or neckline while the three chains drape dramatically between them. The deep sapphire-blue glass provides a beautiful contrast against the aged gold-tone finish and gives the piece an especially rich mid-century statement look.
