Vintage Signed Southwestern Studio Pottery Vase Hand Painted Geometric 7” Beautiful vintage signed Southwestern studio pottery vase featuring an intricate hand-painted geometric design in warm earthy shades of terracotta, tan, black, gray-blue and white. The vessel has a wonderful sculptural form with a narrow slightly curved neck, rounded body and unglazed terracotta base. Bold geometric and abstract motifs wrap completely around the vase, so the artwork changes beautifully from every angle. Purchased from a shop in New Mexico and signed by the artist on the underside. I have not been able to positively identify the artist or pottery tradition, so I am conservatively describing this as Southwestern studio pottery. There is some age-related wear around the upper rim, including areas of paint loss and a small fine surface line/craze visible near the rim, all photographed closely.
