Approximate Measurements: 33" long x 8" wide at widest point x 3" high, not including feet or tuning pegs Vintage 1960s / 1970s Vietnamese đàn tranh 16-string zither featuring a curved pale wood soundboard, dark wood trim, and extensive mother-of-pearl inlay with traditional figural, floral, architectural, and landscape motifs. The instrument has a tapered rectangular form, metal strings, diagonal wooden tuning pegs, decorative string markings at one end, and traditional sound openings on the underside. The body produces a clear resonant tone when the attached strings are plucked. A striking Vietnamese folk instrument, Asian musical collectible, mother-of-pearl decor piece, world music instrument, and restoration project with strong decorative appeal. Condition: Good overall vintage condition with age and use wear. Mother-of-pearl inlay appears intact. The soundboard has visible water staining. Three strings are present but currently disconnected and tangled at one end with old sticky residue. One wooden tuning peg is broken. The original movable bridges are not present. One of the two underside feet is missing, though the instrument remains usable and resonates clearly. Additional surface wear, minor finish loss, and underside wood/veneer wear are present.
