Striking Western-style belt buckle featuring a real preserved scorpion encased beneath a domed resin cabochon. The oval silver-tone buckle has deeply embossed Western floral and scrollwork decoration surrounding the creamy ivory-colored center. Under UV/black light, the center shows a noticeable blue-green fluorescence, as shown in the photographs. A wonderfully unusual piece for a Western buckle collection, cowboy or rodeo wear, desert décor collector, entomology collection, oddities cabinet, or Scorpio gift. The reverse has a traditional bar-and-prong belt attachment. Unmarked; I have not identified a maker. Vintage/preowned condition with age-appropriate surface wear.
