Up for sale is a very nice vintage ceramic Fukusuke coin bank made by Tokai in Japan. Fukusuke is a traditional Japanese mascot symbolizing good fortune, wealth, and business success. This bank is an excellent find because it remains completely intact with its original pieces. It features a wonderfully chubby, smiling face, prominent ears, a formal kneeling posture, and is dressed in a traditional hand-painted kimono and blue hakama pants. Collector Details: It retains both of its factory-applied circular paper emblems (featuring the kanji character for good fortune "福") on the collar lapels. They are attached and legible, which is very uncommon for this 1960-70 Showa-era bank model. Original Rubber Stopper Included Features the original stamped "TOKAI" signature directly on the ceramic base. Great vintage condition with excellent gloss and color retention.
