Product Details

This one-of-a-kind Megalodon fossil and Ethiopian opal pendant has a suggested retail price of $495. The genuine Megalodon tooth was recovered from a South Carolina river and displays beautiful natural gray-blue enamel. Diamond S Silversmiths transformed the fossil into a substantial 33.4-gram statement pendant using hand-fabricated sterling silver. A luminous Ethiopian opal crowns the tooth, flashing green, blue and warm fire as the light changes. The heavy silver wrap and oversized bail feature extensive hand-stamped Southwestern-inspired detailing, while the reverse is stamped STERLING and bears the Diamond S maker’s mark. The generous bail accommodates a substantial chain or cord. A striking union of ancient fossil, precious opal and handmade silversmithing. Total weight: 33.4 g. Cord/chain shown for display only and is not included.

About the Seller
I’ve always been a treasure hunter at heart. Traveling for work took me through the American Southwest, where turquoise and silversmithing captured my imagination. 2½ years ago, I taught myself to cut rough stone and work silver—and I’ve been obsessed ever since. I source turquoise and other rough, cut and polish my own stones, refine silver, alloy my own sterling, roll it into sheet, and create each piece by hand. My other passion is fossils, which I transform through inlay into one-of-a-kind fossil art and jewelry. When I’m not at the bench, I’m hunting antique bottles—especially early Savannah, Georgia sodas—and unusual pieces of history. I love things with a story, and I love giving them a new chapter.
