Product Details

Exceptional interwar Egyptian Revival bracelet, likely Egyptian-made during the great Egyptomania movement following the 1922 discovery of Tutankhamun’s tomb. Large articulated panels feature dimensional Nefertiti and pharaonic/Tutankhamun-inspired figures applied over extraordinarily intricate concentric hand-worked filigree. The construction is particularly special: individually fabricated openwork panels, handmade wire connectors and an elaborate original removable pin closure passing through coiled tubular terminals. This labor-intensive construction is characteristic of early Egyptian silverwork and far removed from later mass-produced tourist jewelry. Likely Egypt, c.1925–1940. Similar period Egyptian pieces are frequently .800 silver; metal content unverified unless tested. Beautiful age-appropriate patina remains throughout. A striking, substantial survivor of the Art Deco Egyptian Revival.
