XL fossil Tilly bone recovered from Central Florida. Tilly bones are unusual bony growths that develop on the vertebrae of certain fish, often creating chunky, irregular shapes that can easily be mistaken for other types of fossil bone. This is an especially large example with great natural texture and preservation.
