Fossil river dolphin tooth (Pomatodelphis inaequalis) from Polk County, Florida. This extinct long-snouted dolphin lived during the Miocene, roughly 13.5–6.8 million years ago, and is known from the southeastern United States. This specimen retains a large portion of the root along with the dark enamel crown and comes displayed on a labeled acrylic stand.
