A very unusual Mickey Mantle collectible from the 2006 Topps Turkey Red Baseball release! This is the 2006 Topps Turkey Red B-18 Blanket featuring Mickey Mantle, produced by Topps as a modern tribute to the classic early-20th-century B-18 tobacco-era felt blankets. THIS IS NOT AN ORIGINAL 1910s BLANKET. It is an authentic Topps-produced 2006 baseball collectible. BLUE BACKGROUND VARIATION Topps produced Mickey Mantle B-18 blankets with different background colors. This example is the attractive and harder-to-find BLUE BACKGROUND variation. The design features Mickey Mantle in his classic New York Yankees pinstripes, surrounded by colorful pennants and baseball-themed graphics in the distinctive vintage Turkey Red style. Unlike a conventional baseball card, this collectible is printed on a soft felt/fabric material with naturally unfinished/fuzzy edges, replicating the appearance and feel of the original vintage B-18 blankets.
