Auctions are frequently started at $1 but when an item doesn’t receive the bids or final price the seller wants the atmosphere can become increasingly loud and frustrated. I’ve personally found the shouting & complaining about the lack of bids very uncomfortable.
A $1 start means buyers decide what they’re willing to bid. Sometimes an item will sell for much less than expected. That’s the risk of running an auction & I don’t think buyers should feel responsible for making sure a seller reaches their desired sale price.
Also as someone watching an opal seller specifically because I’m interested in opals I found the 3d printed plastic giveaways disappointing. For me the overall auction environment became too unpleasant to want to continue participating.We are disappointed by this 1-star review. Since August 1, you made only 4 small purchases, with your last purchase on August 21, while receiving 16 giveaways plus additional share giveaways completely free. Our giveaways are our choice and part of how we run our business. Like any business, we pay for stock, fees, GST, packaging and postage, so we must protect our margins.
