In Central Pomo “Bidu” means acorn. Acorns become mighty oaks. I love collecting cards. “I am Yokayo and Noyo Pomo. My great-great-grandmothers were basket weavers, and basket weaving continued through both the women and men in my family. Today I carry on those traditions as a basket weaver, clamshell bead maker, and fisherman. Through my work, I honor my ancestors, my villages, and the knowledge passed down through generations.”
