I arrived with high hopes and a wallet foolishly prepared for battle. Bid after bid, I fought bravely, winning several incredible signed token alters along the way. The art was fantastic, the prizes were great, and my bank account was beginning to file formal complaints.
Still, my eyes remained fixed on the true prize: the custom alter.
Then disaster struck.
Someone asked me to pass them their phone. Being a decent human being, I looked up, handed it over, and returned to my own phone moments later.
Too late.
In my brief act of kindness, I missed the auction for the grand prize entirely.
I wasn't defeated by another bidder. I was defeated by basic human decency.
Five stars. But next time, nobody gets their phone back. I had a great time in the artist appreciation stream; what a fantastic idea for a game. The tokens are beautiful in person, and I love that they're all hand signed by the artist.
