The Boing Boing Penguin is more than just a mascot—it’s a symbol of joy, nostalgia, and family connection. When my daughter was little, she absolutely adored penguins. Though she couldn’t quite pronounce “penguin” yet, her excited cries of “boing boing” said it all. Her love for penguins hasn’t faded over the years, and as fate would have it, she is now a proud student at Youngstown State University—home of Pete the Penguin, the only university mascot of its kind in the country.As I’ve rediscovered my passion for sports cards, it was only natural to bring the same joy and playfulness to Whatnot. The name “Boing Boing Cards” came easily—it’s a tribute to my daughter’s love of penguins and the fond memories it brings.
